A difference in the mutant phenotypes of a PTM writer and its cognate histone residue. (A) PR-Set7 null clones do not proliferate well, whereas (B) histone locus null clones covered by H4K20A grow as well as wild-type. Clones are marked by the absence of GFP, and are outlined with white dotted lines.
